Ave Cucina & Coffee Bar | 16 Eva Street, Coorparoo QLD 4151
The
morning after mum had seen a spectacular show of fireworks, the other
travel bunnie and I nodded in agreement that we’d done pretty well
to impress mum and that the only thing left to do in order to leave
her with a memorable weekend, was to take her to an equally
impressive breakfast.
We
thought of Ave Cucina & Café in Coorparoo, a place where we’ve
wanted to go for breakfast for a long time.
We
drove out of the city, past an industrial area, then into the
suburbs. Mum was sitting in the back of the car, obviously a
little confused as to where we were heading.
It
was early in the morning and we easily got ourselves a table at Ave
Cucina & Café. I know that the place is popular among the
locals but we weren’t acknowledged by any wait staff for a good 10
minutes after we were seated, so I got slightly anxious (to be fair,
they were training two new staff).
The
breakfast menu was filled with Middle Eastern affairs. The
other travel bunnie ordered Shadi’s breakfast wrap – messy
eggs, bacon, grilled haloumi & herbed mushrooms wrapped in
Lebanese bread, ave tomato relish
($14.90), I ordered the ave vege breakfast for mum, which
came with toasted pane, spinach, roasted balsamic tomatoes, field
mushrooms, grilled haloumi, two fried eggs and ave pesto
($18.50). And as for me, I couldn’t resist the temptation of
their Sunday only fluffy ricotta pancakes
($19). The fluffy ricotta pancakes vary depending on the chef’s
creativity every week, coincidentally the one I had was inspired by
the Riverfire.The
portions were extremely generous and the food were flavoursome.
We all agreed that the ave vege breakfast was
the clear winner, despite the other travel bunnie and I being big
fans of anything that oinks or more relevantly, that once did (truth
be told – anything meat related will do) for breakfast. The
combination of pesto, haloumi and mushrooms worked like magic,
leaving you craving for more… and more.
Needless
to say, we left breakfast feeling satisfied. It’s no wonder
Ave Cuicina & Café is so popular.
Total
Bunnie Dollars Spent: $66.20
