Era Bistro, 102 Melbourne Street, SOUTH BRISBANE QLD 4101

You see, the other travel bunnie has a list of places for us to try. The list started off with about thirty places, including both chef-hatted restaurants and cheap eats. Later on we realised that we will be away for quite a while at the end of the year and it was very necessary that we finish off the list so that we can start fresh in the new year.

This Saturday we crossed off Era from the list. Breakfast at Era is served at the Era Cafe rather than the actual bistro. The establishment's high ceiling roof lets ample natural light into the room and the constant smell of crispy bacon triggered the release of endorphins in my brain.

All the happiness made me really hungry and I was ready to eat and eat big! Breakfast for me was their special of the day, Potato & ham hock breakfast hash w' fried eggs and turkish toast ($16.90) and the other bunnie had Baked eggs with chorizo beans, spinach, feta & poor mans hash browns ($16.90). We were told that the baked eggs would take around 16 minutes but it didn't feel long as I happily sipped away on my Earl Grey.

Both meals were tasty without being overly heavy. The shredded ham hock in my dish have the whole meal a rich flavour and the other sprinkling of greek feta cheese melted into the other bunnies beans which brought his dish together beautifully.

Definitely  a great breakfast venue for a sunny spring morning.

Total Bunnie Dollars Spent: $41.90
