Wara Wara Izakaya, Level 1, 153 Elizabeth Street, BRISBANE QLD 4000

So this time last week the other travel bunnie and I thought that we should head out for a little food entertainment and where better to go than the new fusion Izakaya in the heart of the CBD (well, technically it's owned by Korean and the majority of the menu items are Korean).

Wara Wara is yet another new addition to the international food scene located on the first floor of Elizabeth Street. The menu is HUGE and the staff were friendly and more than willing to explain the various food and drink options on it. The other travel bunnie went straight for the Soju/ Beer combo and with it came complimentary snacks. The combination of the busy atmosphere, cute booths, fantastic oriental d̩cor and of course Рthe soju lead us to order a meal from every page of the menu (which incidentally covers japanese, korean, chinese and what I like to call asian/western). The food came quickly, the portions were generous and the chilli was plentiful (and HOT). A number of the dishes were probably unnecessary and not so tasty, i.e. the baked sweet corn and the pizza. While the total bill for the night was a little more than you would spend on a casual meal at any other Korean restaurant, truth be told there was probably enough food on our table for 4 bunnies. Wara Wara is a great place for a fun, casual meal in town but make sure that you don't go overboard with the ordering!

Total Bunnie Dollars Spent $76.50
