Ben's Burgers | 5A Winn Lane, FORTITUDE VALLEY QLD 4006
In
my opinion, there can never be too many food establishments in a
city, the more the merrier as long as the food is tasty.
One
weekend as I was browsing the internet, I came across to an article
on Ben's Burgers, a new burger joint that's opened up in the Valley.
Ben’s Burgers is the brainchild of brothers Nick and Ben Chiu and
is tucked away in Winn Lane (which is pretty easy to miss if you are
unfamiliar with the neighbourhood).
We
went there early on a Sunday night and Ben's Burgers was really
quiet, which I didn't mind as I have heard that the waiting times
during the day can go up to an hour. The menu is simple. Three burger
choices with no alterations all priced at $11 each. Take it or leave
it.
The
burgers came out within ten minutes. A BB Classic ($11) for
me. This burger comes with a thick beef patty stacked with all the
usual suspects of cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup,
mustard and mayo. The other travel bunnie had a BB Special ($11)
which is a combination of beef, cheese, pickles, onion and jalapenos
with special sauce. Both of the beef patties were thick and juicy,
cooked to a level where they were brown on the outside but pink in
the middle. The burgers were served on soft, sweet brioche buns which
I loved but I thought that the patties could do with a little more
seasoning. Although the fries ($5) were not particularly
memorable, they did make a good side with the aioli ($0.50). We also
tasted the homemade Cherry Cola ($5). It was extremely sweet
and if you are after an instant sugar hit, you can't go wrong with
it.
I
probably wouldn't drive out of the CBD just for Ben's Burgers, but if
you are in the neighbourhood, it's worth checking out.
Total
Bunnie Dollars Spent: $32.50
