Hosokawa Japanese Restaurant | Shop 3 / 53 Racecourse Road, HAMILTON QLD 4007
Last
time when the other travel bunnie and I went to Baguette for dinner,
we saw a small yet bustling Japanese restaurant tucked between a
Subway and a gelato shop. Last Friday night, we ended up at that
Japanese restaurant for dinner. Hosokawa is the name of that
restaurant.
The
restaurant was almost all booked out when we arrived, except for a
few tables outside. I had been craving some decent Japanese cuisine
for a while and I was hoping that Hosokawa would be able to fix my
cravings.
Dinner
started with two cups of warm, calming Japanese tea ($2 per person).
We ordered a few different dishes from the menu, figuring that it
would be the best way to try a bit of everything. My starter was sea
urchin nigiri ($12), followed by
nabeyaki udon ($18)
for main. The other travel bunnie had uzaku - grilled
eel salad ($10), deep fried oysters ($12)
and prawn tempura hand roll ($8).
The
taste of the food was undoubtedly delicious, whether it was the sweet
broth of the nabeyaki udon, the unique flavour of sea urchin or the
simple crispy dried seaweed wrapped around sushi rice.
The
quantity of the dishes are more like tapas, small and leaving you
lingering for more.
Total
Bunnie Dollars Spent: $64.
