The Crosstown Eating House, 23 Logan Road, WOOLLOONGABBA QLD 4102
Did
someone say perfectly seasoned crispy shoelace thin fries for
breakfast? That's what the other travel bunnie had on our recent
breakfast affair at Crosstown Eating House and it sure was one of the
best we've had in a while.
To
be honest, Crosstown faces tough competition with the ever so popular
Pearl Cafe located just across the street and they sure do a great job
being unique.
The
restaurant is spacious and we were given a few seating options, their
courtyard seemed quiet and that's where we sat. The service was
great, very prompt but not pushy. A pot of hot English Breakfast tea
and an aromatic latte were delivered to our table within 5 minutes.
We
had already looked at the breakfast menu the night before after our
dinner at E'cco, which means that we wasted no time in deciding what
to put into our tummies that morning. I hadn't had french toast for a
long time as the last one I had didn't live up to standards, but my
sweet tooth made me order their French toast, honeyed ricotta, fresh
strawberries and coulis ($15) and O.M.G it was good. So good that I
could just eat it all day! It wasn't overly sweet and the honeyed
ricotta provided great texture to the dish.
The
other travel bunnie went a lil' crazy and ordered the bacon and egg
roll, bbq sauce, fries and aioli ($15.5). Mmm... it was a great
choice. I kept asking the other travel bunnie to look the other way
and every time he turned back, some fries would go missing (ahem... I
didn't steal them I swear, it was the boogy man... or a hungry
bunnie).
Crosstown
Eating House provided us a wholesome, delicious breakfast. It was
just what we needed and left us happy for the rest of the day.
Total
Bunnie Dollars Spent: $38.
