Meet Fresh, Shop 123, Sunnybank Plaza, SUNNYBANK QLD 4109
So, this is my first blog post using photos taken by Instagram.
We unexpectedly found Meet Fresh in Sunnybank and without my trusty DSLR, I decided to use my phone.
We ordered their signature herbal jelly ($5.50) and taro balls dessert no.4 ($5.50) which was served with red beans, taro and pearls. I was slightly disappointed with the presentation as they looked nothing like the pictures on the wall, but then I realised that because we ordered “hot” desserts instead of cold, the jelly was liquified. Um, as to the taste, we could really put our fingers on it, but I quite liked the herbal taste of grass jelly.
I also saw a gigantic serving of Supreme Mango Crushed Ice on the table next to us and I personally can't wait to go back and give it a go.
This is a similar vain to some of the desserts my mother cooks and also things in Malaysia like Ais Kacang so I've been really wanting to check this out. Although probably not till summer though.
ReplyDeletelucky you, i wish my mum can cook desserts like that.
DeleteOh now I realise you can get them hot! Might go back sooner than later!
ReplyDeleteI know, it's awesome! Have you tried their mango crushed ice? I seriously need to try it out next time.
Deletehow's it compare to the one in Sydney?
ReplyDeletepretty much the same, but no where near as busy. I went to the Sunnybank branch around 7 on a Sunday night... and the shop only had a few tables.
DeleteI wrote go back when I actually meant go as I haven't yet gone... But after reading your review I'm very keen. My mum is Chinese but from Malaysia and they do some very similar things. I think she still has her very old ice shaver from Malaysia. I remember as a child in summer being so excited to shave ice for desserts.
