Hansar Hotel, Bangkok, THAILAND

An early afternoon flight with Thai Airways took us to Bangkok at around 8.30pm local time, the weather was hot and humid. Our well-dressed driver had already been waiting for us in a squeaky clean BMW (฿1,900.00 one way), ready to take us to the Hansar Hotel.

The drive was rather smooth as the highway was wide and looked nothing like a travel video that I watched before my departure, although occasionally you get a few cars trying to over take without indicating.

“Hansar” stands being in the moment of full joy and happiness. Its green philosophy and contemporary designs caught our attention. Being a member of the SLH, Hansar left us with a great first impression. I love the combination of its lush green and sleek wooden décor. The service during our three-night stay was exceptional, the concierge was very helpful and check-in was a piece-of-cake.

We stayed in the Edge Suite, which features a live wall that lights up during the day and a cantilevered daybed that provides a beautiful view of Bangkok’s sunset at dusk (hence, the name “Edge Suite”).

The bed was slightly too big for us because we are cuddlers, but not that it’s a negative at all. The bed linens are some of the best I’ve ever slept on! The duvet was so soft and light as a feather. The bathroom adjoining the bedroom comes with his and her vanities, rainshower head and the bathtub is big enough to fit two people. For those of you who can’t live without Facebook and Twitter, wireless internet is free throughout all guestrooms and public areas.

There isn’t a club lounge in this hotel, but our stay came with buffet breakfast at the Eve restaurant, in-room mini-bar (which is stock daily and is completely free) and guests can enjoy half price menu items during happy hour at the hotel’s pool bar which provide the prefect setting for a little Bangkok winding down.

The hotel is not located on a main street, so if you are going to the hotel by taxi, the best way is to tell the driver to go to St.Regis or the Four Seasons as the hotel is hidden on the “soi” in between the two hotels. We found the location of the hotel really convenient because the Ratchadamri BTS Station is only one-minute walk away.

If you want to stay at somewhere unique and slightly different to the usual chain hotels in Bangkok, consider Hansar.

  1. Wow I just noticed we stayed in this same hotel in Bangkok not too far apart. I think I was there in June last year? Great taste ;)
