DinTaiFung, 644 George Street Sydney NSW 2000

Having read all the raves about this place, I decided to take the other travel bunny for an Asian experience to the famous DinTaiFung (claiming to be the world's tastiest dumpling restaurant)(well, the restaurant at its HKG location was even awarded one Michelin * by the Hong Kong and Macau 2010 edition of the Michelin Guide)

So, as you can imagine, this place gets extremely busy, even well after lunch time. By the time when we got there, there was already a long queue ahead of us. While sitting outside (a rather spacious area designated for customers waiting to be seated…) among all the rest hungry munchers, impatiently waiting for your number to be called, you can watch all the dumpling-making actions in the steaming kitchen. We were given a copy of an order form printed on a piece of A4 size paper,  which can be handed in to the head host to ensure that your food gets delivered to your table at a prompt time once you are seated.

The staffs at the restaurant are fast and very efficient. Being very thoughtful, they even provide a guide to enjoy their food… yeah…

We ended up having one serve each of their most popular dumplings, including the Xiao Long Bao and the steamed crab meat and pork dumplings. The dumplings were juicy, the fillings inside were tender, the taste of each bite was simply amazing.

Overall, I thought the place was pretty good, definitely worth another visit.
