InterContinental Sanctuary Cove | Gold Coast, AUSTRALIA

The drive leading up to the entrance of the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove was beautiful, a red bricked road lined with palm trees and water on the either side, which immediately gave me a sense of relaxation.

Check in was a breeze but as we arrived just after 12:30pm our room wasn’t quite ready. We left our luggage at the reception counter and went downstairs to The Fire Place for the newly launched High Coffee session.

Our room was located just a short stroll away from The Great House, tucked away behind the property’s immense lush greens, and as anticipated, our luggage had already been placed in our closet. The room had a classic homestead feel, with wicker armchairs, parquetry floors and sliding white shutters that open onto a sizeable balcony overlooking the well manicured golf course. I took off my heels and jumped onto the bed, it was so big and very comfortable, I could’ve easily taken a nap then and there, but instead decided to check out the property some more.

As you pass the fireplaces in the lobby and a set of stairs, you’ll find yourself at the Fountain Terrace. It’s the quintessential photo spot, and why not? It was mesmerising watching the water jets shoot up in the air then sparkle back in the basin. A few steps down, we found a Roman style spa, a lap pool and a man-made lagoon with beautiful soft white sand. #Bliss

InterContinental Sanctuary Cove is located in the prestigious suburb of Hope Island and you will not get bored exploring the property and its surrounds, including the Marina Village where you can shop til you drop and eat to your heart’s content. After dinner that night, I had a warm shower (the water pressure was on point by the way!) before soundly falling asleep on the sublime bed.

We woke up the next morning listening to birds chirping away. It was slightly sad leaving the property but at the same time, we left feeling refreshed and blissed.
