Bar Pacino | 175 Eagle Street, BRISBANE CBD QLD 4000
The
other bunnie and I took one look at the breakfast menu and realised
that Bar Pacino had made us an offer we couldn’t refuse! Within 15
minutes we had hopped over to 175 Eagle Street and were seated and
ordering our breakky.
Bar
Pacino is relatively new on the foodie scene in the Brisbane CBD and
enjoys a prised position elevated directly above the riverfront. The
dining space is simple and has an open air/bistro feel but its food
is the real attraction.
Both
bunnies were hungry and craving eggs so the other travel bunnie opted
for The
Pacino – Eggs your way, pork & fennel sausage, bacon, haloumi,
Italian flat mushrooms, slow roasted tomato & pane de casa toast
($18.50)
while
I thought I would take a more conservative option and went with the
Omelette
– Olives, Italian flat mushrooms, spinach, soft fetta &
sourdough w/tomato relish.
Both dishes were generous (I think at one stage the other
bunnie described the mounds of food atop his wooden serving platter
as ridiculously excessive) but both had rustic, traditional Italian
food as their solid foundation. The highlights of the Pacino
had to be the perfectly grilled haloumi, the tasty sausage and the
creamy scrambled eggs. My vegetarian omelette was equally
hearty and I particularly loved the combination of feta and Italian
olives which were folded into it giving it a unique – almost
pizzaesq - flavour. Unfortunately, I was not up to the task and
the other bunnie had to finish off my dish as well. It was all
washed down with a mug of well made cappuccino and a combination
juice for the other bunnie (who simply asked the waiter to put
something together that was not solely orange juice and he was most
presently surprised with the fruity flavours that he got in return).
Bar
Pacino seems like the perfect place to get together with friends over
a drink on a hot summer day with the cool river breezes pushing
through its open spaces but do not discount it as a breakfast spot
when your looking for nonna’s big Italian breakfast and you don’t
want to leave the CBD.
Total
Bunnie Dollars Spent: $40
