Primal Pantry | Cnr of Florence & Macquarie St, TENERIFFE QLD 4006

When it comes to food, I'm usually pretty open to suggestions. The other travel bunnie and I have always said that we shouldn't say no to something unless we have tried it at least once (certain exclusions may apply).

For a while now, paleo food has been extremely popular, so last Saturday we decided to have breakfast at Primal Pantry in Teneriffe for something 'a little different'.

I should've known that it wasn't going to work out for us when I received my real deal chai latte ($4 for a large) as it tasted rather watery and weak. When the breakfast arrived at our table, I was almost speechless. While the Nasi Goreng style sweet sticky pork w' fried egg and herbs ($21.50) didn't look too bad, my Caveman Plate definitely made me raise my eyebrows.

At $23.50, the Caveman Plate came with raw tomatoes and spinach, eggs, mushrooms , maple smoked bacon and a small piece of lamb. I don't want to sound like the pickiest person in the world, but other than the bacon, the rest of the dish was bland. Seriously. Although the amount of food was rather substantial, at almost $25 for a breakfast dish, I thought that the price was a little greedy and I definitely expected more tasty food.

Primal Pantry was packed on the day of our visit, which made me think that it definitely has followers, but it was just not for me.

Total Bunnie Dollars Spent: $53
