Bungalow 4171 | 1/134 Hawthorne Road, HAWTHORNE QLD 4171

With my expected due date only a few days away, I suggested to the other travel bunnie that we head out for a decent breakfast somewhere that we've never been before. And so we ended up at Bungalow 4171.

Set in a cute one-storey corner house in Hawthorne, the vintage décor of the eatery reminded us of grandma's house. It's warm and welcoming.

The breakfast menu offers simple and rustic dishes in a reasonable price range. The other travel bunnie had the breakfast pizza w' spinach, roasted tomato relish, bacon, fried egg, chorizo and cheese ($14.50) while I decided to have the sweet corn and chorizo cakes w' spinach, spiced ketchup, aioli and toast ($16). The generous portion of the dishes were very welcomed by us as the food was tasty and familiar. There was no fancy ingredients or obscure cooking techniques involved; the breakfast was simple, homely yet delicious, and it was everything that we wanted for breakfast that morning.

If you feel up to it, I highly recommend the iced chocolate ($5) (it was so yummy that I literally took the glass away from the other travel bunnie and almost gulped the whole thing down...) otherwise Bangalow 4171 also serves Byron Bay Teas at $3.50 per pot which are quite nice too.

Total Bunnie Dollars Spent: $39
