Siam Samrarn, 1/79 Boundary Street, WEST END QLD 4101

It's a public holiday in Brisbane today and .a public holiday equals indulgence for us bunnies Our indulgence started last night after work with buffalo wings and homemade chocolate cake drizzled with thick dark chocolate ganache.

We started our day with chocolate cake and glasses of milk (yes), followed by a nice day trip to Montville.

I honestly didn't think that we would have any dinner after what we've eaten during the day but it's been a while since our Thailand trip and my brain was telling me that I had huge cravings for some good Thai food. I couldn't help but google what the available options are.

We ended up going to Siam Samrarn. Located in a shopping centre in West End, it's not a place that we would take particular notice of, but it seemed really popular.

The other travel bunnie had left the deciding power in my hands and we all know that I'm by far the less sensible one in the relationship.

We stared our meal with coconut prawns ($9.50) and a glass of cold Thai milk tea ($4.90), but our meal didn't get serious until our mains. When our waitress took out Thai BBQ chicken ($18.90), Chicken Pad Thai ($17.90) and Soft shell crab with curry ($25.50), our pupils dilated. We wouldn't pick a favourite. The servings were generous. Initially we were worried that we wouldn't be able to finish the food, but all dishes tasted delicious. So delicious that I HAD to order Durian with coconut rice ($8). I normally would opt for mango but as it's not in season, I thought durian would be just fine. Turns out, durian tasted even better. The flavour was exotic and the texture was rich yet not sickening.

You know, I wouldn't usually go back to the same restaurant twice unless it's left me with exceptional impression, but this time, Siam Samrarn, I can see myself going back again and again.

The prices quoted are higher than usual due to the public holiday rate but I honestly believe that this place is great value for money.

Total Bunnie Dollars Spent: $84.70
