Hello Kitty Cafe, Seoul

Hello Kitty has just turned 30. So I thought this blog post would be quite appropriate.

Actually, a few months ago a girlfriend of mine showed me a few photos of this Hello Kitty cafe and it was decided then and there that no matter what, these travel bunnies would make their way to this super cute place.

We went to the Hello Kitty cafe located in the Hongdae district of Seoul (also known as the club area where the vibrant and energetic nightlife happens). Hongdae is an abbreviation of Hongik Daehakgyo (Hongki University) and this district is home to hundreds of hip bars, restaurants and cafes.

Finding the cafe wasn't as easy as we thought it would be, but with the help of many friendly uni students, we finally spotted it. It literally took me a good 10 minutes to decide where to sit. I mean, that place is mad. Mad about Hello Kitty. Everything is pink, everything has a bow, everything is... well, Hello Kitty!

The price of their food and coffee are really reasonable (a lot cheaper than Starbucks). We ordered a chocolate waffle and two drinks. Um, let's just say… i wouldn't be a regular and spend Sunday afternoons at that place, but it was still worth the trip. Recommended for all Hello Kitty lovers.

  1. You fly all the way to Seoul just to go to Hello Kitty Cafe? I am so jealous. A lot of my friend who has been here before said that the food is quiet expensive and the taste is mediocre. But since i'm a big fan of Hello Kitty and Korilakkuma, this cafe is gonna be on my must-visit-restaurant/cafe list. Lol lucky you!

    1. Haha, no i wish i can do that, but Seoul was just a stop over en route to Europe. Food was average to be honest, but it was worth it to see a whole cafe with a Hello Kitth theme, it's really cute.
