The Doughnut Bar | Shop K3, 185 Queen Street Mall, BRISBANE CBD QLD 4000

Brisbane foodies, take a deep breath, because you’re about to get very excited! Remember the video that went around the internet like crazy where a vendor was being filmed making ice cream rolls in the streets of Phuket? Well, you can now officially get scrolled ice cream here in Brisbane. Available exclusively at The Doughnut Bar located inside of the Wintergarden, you’ll be able to try amazingly delicious flavours such as Vovoreo (raspberry, coconut, oreo), Snickers (chocolate, smashed nuts, caramel) and Tiny Timmy Tella which is what I had when I had the great pleasure of eating at their preview yesterday.

As the cute name suggests, Tiny Timmy Tella is made with tiny teddies, Tim Tams and Nutella. I know right?! It sounds amazing and tastes better than it sounds. The difference between traditional ice cream and the scrolled ice cream available at The Doughnut Bar is that the latter contains no air, is low in sugar and fat and is prepared fresh to order. Made on a specially imported cold plate, the European gelato liquid is poured over the minus 20 degree surface and freezes and turns into a thin layer before being carefully folded as ice cream into beautiful creamy scrolls. The process is mesmerising to watch.

So what are you waiting for – haven’t you seen how hot it is outside!?

Disclaimer: DolceBunnie was an invited guest of The Doughnut Bar, however my opinion is as always, my own.
