Bavarian Bier Café, Level 1, 45 Eagle Street, BRISBANE QLD 4000
Well
tonight I reminisced about all the great dining experiences the other
travel bunnie and I had in the past a year or so since I started this
blog.
My
thoughts went to the restaurant located downstairs from our bunny
pad, Bavarian Bier Cafe. We've been there so many times but for some
reason I've never come around to blogging about it.
This
place always gets so jam packed, especially on a Friday night as it's
very popular among the CBD corporates. Yes, the service may not be
perfect (in fact our orders have been lost before and we have had a
full glass of beer spilled on us by a waitress) but hey, it's a fun
place to go to for a night of lighthearted pleasure and wholesome
german fare.
Ordering
can be overwhelming and in a situation like that, I always head for
their Munchner Brauhaus Platter where you can savour four popular
items on their menu, including crackling roast pork belly,
char-grilled kassler, sausages, chicken schnitzel, sauerkraut, red
cabbage and sebago mash ($37.50). For a healthier option, I quite
like the Free range chicken salad w' avocado, mango, endive &
mild curry dressing ($20). The other travel bunnie always seems to
try a different schnitzel.
PS.
order the 1 metre of schnapps if you dare, when the bell rings, the
whole restaurant's attention will be on you.
