Hotel du Petit Moulin, 29 / 31 rue du Poitou, 75003 Paris, France

My love for Christian Lacroix designed boutique hotels started roughly around two years ago when I went to Paris for the first time.

Hotel du Petit Moulin discretely lies in the heart of the 6th arrondissement (aka the trendsetting Marais), once a boulangerie in a 17th-century building¸ this boutique hotel was transformed by the extraordinarily creative haute-couture designer in Spring, 2005.

I had to book the room that I wanted to stay in six months in advance, as I was worried about missing out on one of seventeen uniquely designed rooms in this hotel. Think bold colours, claw-foot bathtubs, Venetian mirrors and fancy wallpaper.

The hotel felt intimate and the service was personal.

The area in which the hotel is situated is also full of quirky boutiques, cafes and art galleries. Lose yourself exploring rue Charlot, rue de Poitou and rue de Bretagne…
