Sip Cafe, 54 Vernon Terrace, TENERIFFE QLD 4006

We drove for a long time around the areas with good breakfast joints on 31 December 2011. Failed miserably. Then, we found Sip, a cute cafe tucked away in the hip part of Teneriffe, neighbouring Passione Gelateria & Dessert Bar

Breakfast consisted of a caramel latte, a cappuccino, eggs benedict - two poached eggs w' freshly carved ham, avocados & hollandaise sauce on sourdough ($16.90) and french toast w' mixed berries, drizzled maple syrup & a scoop of vanilla ice cream ($12.90) **beginning of a bunnie's gibberish ranting: why do I alway, always order French Toast for breakfast? It's full of sugar, very very unhealthy! I suppose they do normally come with fruits, so maybe that off-sets the unhealthy part? One of my NY resolutions is to eat healthier and to cut down my sugar intake, but I am having Lindt white chocolates as I am writing this blog post, so I guess this resolution will have to wait till next year to be actioned. End of a bunnie's gibberish ranting**

The coffee part of my caramel latte would've been good, but I think the barista accidentally put in way too much caramel syrup, so much so that it almost made my French toast taste bland. Having said that, I do like the idea of putting chocolate treats with their coffee. Very cute. Food arrived quickly. The servings were generous. If you're looking for a home-made style breakfast, Sip Cafe is good for it.

Reading the weekend papers over breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning while listening to Sip's relaxing lounge music was a great way to start our day.

  1. I love the close up of the blueberries and melted icecream. Good shot!
