Bottega Louie | 700 S Grand Avenue, DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, USA

Bottega Louie was on my must-eat list for our recent USA trip. When I saw some photos on the internet, I was immediately attracted to the beautiful interior of a marvel of white marble and the abundance of colourful, mouth-watering desserts that place offers.

Bottega Louie is located on the corner of 7th Street and Grand Avenue in downtown and if it wasn't for its location, we probably wouldn't have visited that part of LA. On the way there, we saw one attempted suicide, numerous LAPD officers and sadly, a lot more homeless people. To me, downtown felt like a different city.

But once when you step into Bottega Louie, it is like you've been transported to a high-class hang-out for the city's beautiful corporate movers and shakers. It's a combination of restaurant, patisserie and gourmet market, not to mention its uber cool brass trimmed bar.

The food was wonderful, but I had my eyes on those delicious pastries the whole time and as soon as I shoved down the last bit of my club sandwich, I jumped to the pastry counter and ordered a strawberry frasier. Mmm... it was good.

I wish I could bring back a piece of Bottega Louie with me.
