Katsuya | 6300 Hollywood Blvd, LOS ANGELES USA

If you love sushi or decent Japanese food, or maybe you just simply enjoy dining with celebrities, Katsuya in Hollywood is one of the hip restaurants in LA that you should definitely go and check out.

After a fun day at the Universal Studios, we were ready for our last dinner in LA and where else than at Katsuya. Katsuya has several locations in LA but the one located at the corner of Hollywood and Vine is by far the most popular.

As soon as you step into the restaurant designed by Phillip Starck, with its hip and chic décor, great ambience and sweet smell of teriyaki will attack your senses from all directions.

A stunning long-legged host led us to our table, which made me feel quite inappropriately dressed in my studded sneakers and jeans. I must admit that the place is great for people watching, it takes the whole “see-and-be-seen” concept to a whole new level. I found it extremely difficult to take my eyes off all the beautiful people who kept walking into the restaurant, well... until our food arrived at our table.

Chef Katsuya Uechi's delicious Japanese cuisine was pretty hard to ignore and equally, if not more, eye-catching as the breathtakingly stunning models two tables down.

We had the Japanese Prix Fixe which comes with your choice of New York Steak, chicken or salmon. I was really impressed. I thought the presentation together with the modern tastes were a great combination, not to mention the good value that you get for a celebrity hot-spot.

Thumbs up for Katsuya!
